Visual Design

The Ishihara plate, a color vision test based on 38 dotted plates, is used to assess individual color recognition ability. Those with color vision deficiency (CVD) cannot clearly distinguish all the plates—some numbers become invisible or are misread.
This exhibition’s main visual theme, The Visible and the Invisible, centers on the differences in human visual perception. It focuses on the act of “seeing” over time, gradually revealing how invisible, non-visual forces shape our daily lives. These subtle observations are collected and presented by The Underground Misfits Co-op (UMC).
Here, a “misfit” is not simply someone strange, but someone who experiences a dissonance—a sense of unease, confusion, or disconnection between the self and the environment. Through shared conversations and experiences, we invite visitors to reflect on “The Visible World” through their own eyes, and together explore the invisible energies of the body that influence us. By becoming familiar with your own “way of understanding the world,” we hope to create space to confront life’s strangeness.
You're welcome to join us anytime—and we invite you to place primary-colored dot stickers on the poster, recreating the visible world as you see it, just like in an Ishihara test.
