"Typical and Atypical" reveals the dissonance between our bodies and the world around us; thus, we move, reach out to others, and continue to experience "Mobility and Dwelling." In this way, "Queerness and Coalition" becomes both belief and response—a call for coexistence, empathy, and assemblage.

The Underground Misfits Co-op (UMC) is a group of Misfits not limited by physical space, with the basement of Takobooks serving as a temporary gathering point. The exhibition showcases "Various Ways of Understanding the World" and invites visitors to join at any time. UMC serves multiple functions, including:
①Zine Universe: Documenting the offbeat actions of 15 Misfits, weaving together multiple contexts.
②City Node: Creating a space for exchange and a haven for Misfits (visitors&creators).
③Sharing Drinks and Stories: During the exhibition, UMC will offer a cup of Pour-Over coffee or tea in exchange for visitors' personal life stories.
④Free Writing: Visitors are invited to relax, express their thoughts, and collaboratively weave ways of understanding the world.
⑤Community Events: Exploring the relationship between self and environment through various bodily experiences, including workshops, sharing sessions, and talks.
The Visible and the Invisible

This exhibition's main visual theme, The Visible and the Invisible, centers on the differences in human visual perception. It focuses on the act of "seeing" over time, gradually revealing how invisible, non-visual forces shape our daily lives. These subtle observations are collected and presented by The Underground Misfits Co-op (UMC).
Here, a "misfit" is not simply someone strange, but someone who experiences a dissonance—a sense of unease, confusion, or disconnection between the self and the environment. Through shared conversations and experiences, we invite visitors to reflect on "The Visible World" through their own eyes, and together explore the invisible energies of the body that influence us. By becoming familiar with your own "way of understanding the world," we hope to create space to confront life's strangeness.

As atypical trichromats and individuals with color vision deficiency, we seek to perceive the primary experience that our bodies provide through the visible world before us. Using the cycle of "move, capture, organize," we construct the dynamic flow of daily life while constantly checking and understanding what is real.
In recent years, we have temporarily resided, traveled, and sojourned across multiple cities. This March, we arranged to meet at a layover stop—South Korea. This exhibition presents fragments of our movement through Seoul and Busan, capturing moments of daily life. Together, we document the local scenes—ranging from the culture of pickled side dishes and hidden corners to the high-latitude light tones and changes in air humidity. The images we focus on reveal our shared sensitivity and explore the marginal, unstable, and atypical sides of things.

"Something feels different.Maybe I was too naive, too timid..."
"But I truly don’t know—do these feelings of identity come from my nature, or are they shaped by him?"
"I can accept your apology,but I once hurt—so deeply."
In this exhibition, the anonymous creator, who signed a creative confidentiality agreement, presents a zine titled "Secrets Beneath the Sand — Minor Beast". It tells an untold story from over a decade ago, exploring a part of his life that has long remained hidden. The work reflects on deeply personal experiences that are difficult to share, using a reflexive approach. These memories, like messages buried in sand and gravel, long to be discovered—yet remain shadowed by fear and unease.
(Not suitable for viewers under 12. Parental guidance is recommended for ages 12 to 15.)
